Report of the Committee,

Appointed to Report on the Expediency of Constituting a Standing Committee of this Synod; and to Define the Duties of the Same.

1. This Committee recommend, that a Standing Committee shall be chosen annually, to exercise certain powers, vested in the Diocesan Synod, at such times as the Diocesan Synod shall not be in session.
2. That the Standing Committee consist of five persons, two clergymen, two laymen, and the Bishop as chairman, upon whom shall devolve the duty of summoning the Committee. That three members shall constitute a Quorum.
3. That in the event of the office of any member of the Committee becoming vacant by death, resignation, or otherwise, the remaining members of the Committee shall elect some other fit person to fill the vacant office.
4. In the event of the death of the Bishop, or of his absence from any cause, his place shall be taken by the Bishop's Commissary.
5. It is recommended that the following duties be exercised by the Standing Committee;
(a) The duties which are assigned to that Committee by the Statute of the General Synod.
(b) That at such times as the Diocesan Synod may not be in Session, it may recommend to the General Synod persons to be appointed Trustees for Diocesan Trust properties.
(c) To keep the accounts of the endowment fund.
(d) To take into consideration business to be laid before the next Diocesan Synod.
(e) To present a full report of its proceedings at the annual meeting of the Diocesan Synod.
